"15 years of sunshine" contest


Rules

Contest description and period

  1. The contest is organized by the Caisse centrale Desjardins as part of Desjardins Bank's 15th anniversary and will be held from December 1, 2007, to March 15, 2008.

Eligibility

  1. The contest is open to:
    1. Quebec, Ontario and U.S. residents who are Desjardins Bank clients as at March 14, 2008, at 11:00 p.m.

Personnel of the Caisse centrale Desjardins and Desjardins Bank, of their companies and branches, of their advertising or promotional agencies, as well as their representatives, distributors, and the people with whom they reside are not eligible.

How to enter

  1. To enter, participants must:
    1. have a Desjardins Bank account as at March 14, 2008, at 11:00 p.m.
  2. By doing so, clients are automatically entered.
  3. The participant is the account holder.
  4. No purchase required.

Prizes

  1. Draw for Desjardins Bank clients: $1,500 CA will be deposited in each of the 2 winners' account. In addition, each of the clients' local caisse will receive the same amount, if applicable.

Draw

  1. The winners will be selected in a random draw which will be held on March 20, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the presence of witnesses in the Montreal offices of the Caisse centrale Desjardins.
  2. The odds of a member's name being drawn depend on the number of eligible participants who meet contest requirements.

General conditions

  1. To be declared a winner, the randomly selected participants must meet the following conditions:
    1. Be reached by contest organizers within 10 days following the draw date.
    2. Confirm that they meet the eligibility requirements and other conditions of these contest rules.
    3. Correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without help during a telephone conversation.
    4. Sign the declaration and waiver of responsibility form (the "Declaration form") that will be forwarded to them by the contest organizers by mail, fax or e-mail and return it to contest organizers within 15 days following receipt. A parent (or legal guardian in the interval) of a winner who is a minor will have to sign such declaration in the Declaration form, otherwise, they will not be awarded the prize.
    5. Participants agree to abide by these rules and the decisions of the Caisse centrale Desjardins, who is conducting this contest, and whose decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

Failure to meet the above-mentioned conditions or any other condition herein, the selected persons will be disqualified and another draw will be held in keeping with these contest rules, until other participants are selected and declared the winners of the prizes. The same rules will apply by making the appropriate changes, as the case may be.

  1. Within 15 days of receiving the signed Declaration form, contest organizers will forward a letter to the winners informing them on how to take possession of their prize. Refusal to accept the prize by the persons selected releases contest organizers from any and all obligations regarding the awarding of the prizes. In this case and at their only discretion, contest organizers may hold a new draw as described in the previous sections.
  2. By accepting the prize, the winners agree to abide by these rules and the decisions of the Fédération, who is conducting the contest, and whose decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
  3. Prizes must be accepted as described in these contest rules and cannot be transferred, substituted for another prize or exchanged in whole or in part for cash, except as provided in the section below.
  4. Each person selected releases the Fédération and the persons on behalf of whom the contest is held from any liability in terms of any loss or damage that could arise from accepting and using their prize. Adult winners (and parent or legal guardian in the interval) will have to sign such declaration in the Declaration form, otherwise, they will not be awarded the prize.
  5. The Caisse centrale Desjardins reserves the right, to its sole discretion, to terminate this contest if events beyond its control prevent it from continuing. In such case, it will assume no liability for the discontinuation.
  6. The Fédération and the persons on behalf of whom the contest is held will accept no liability whatsoever in any event where their inability to act is the result of an event or circumstance that is beyond their control, or of a strike, lockout or any other labour dispute in their establishments or firms whose offices are used to hold this contest.
  7. By accepting the prizes, winners authorize the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, their member caisses and subsidiaries as well as Desjardins Credit Union to use their name, address, photo, image, voice and declaration regarding the prize for promotional purposes, without additional compensation.
  8. Personal information obtained from participants will be used only to administer the contest. No advertising communication or other type of communications unrelated to this contest will be sent to participants.
  9. The French version of these rules is available on www.desjardins.com/floride and the English version of these rules, on www.desjardins.com/florida.
  10. Should the French and English versions of these contest rules differ, the French version will prevail.
  11. The contest is subject to all applicable laws.
  12. Quebec residents: Any dispute regarding the organization or management of a promotional contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for arbitration. Any dispute with the attribution of a prize may be submitted to the Régie solely for the purposes of intervention in an attempt to settle the dispute.
